Rafael Muci proposes lyrical views of the City of Caracas, with its iconic Avila Mountain as a powerful background. The digital photographs show a dominant skyline with commanding, pop-like contrasting colors. It is a fictional and dream-like vision of the landscape where forms diffuse upon each other through the lively juxtaposition of outlines. It is a structure that dematerializes into a pentagram of contrasting tints. Muci works in the same way the Impressionists did by capturing the chromatic essence of the landscape, while at the same time creates work with a Warhol-based, pop-art approach by removing the perspective and emphasizing the boldness of the contours. Silhouettes and outlines of the elements prevail within the panoramic scene. The colorful buildings in the foreground, the green mountain, and multihued ski in the background recreate a pictorial outlook that interconnects the photographs with the purest Pictorialism.
